Graduate Conditional Holds Extension Request
Policy
Applicants admitted pending final documentation must submit any outstanding materials by the end of their first term of enrollment. Most holds are related to official transcripts (if an unofficial transcript was initially provided) or official proof that your prior degree has been conferred.
Provisional degree certificates or completion certificates are not accepted as final proof of degree conferral to meet conditions of admission.
Extensions
If conditional documents will not be available by the above recommended deadline, an extension for submission can be requested after receiving an email notifying you that the hold has been placed. Registration holds are placed approximately three weeks after the start of the term for any conditional documents that remain outstanding. Summer admits will follow the Fall term's timeline (ex. Summer 2025 will be grouped with Fall 2025).
It is recommended that extension requests are submitted before registration begins for your next term of study. Extension requests generally take 3-5 business days (Monday-Friday) for review so please plan accordingly.
Each separate outstanding document requiring an extension needs to be requested separately.
